What do we do?

We make it easier for you to find new friends and make the most of your leisure time.

FindFriendsForFun is a website that brings like minded people together in order to enjoy mutual interests such as sports, hobbies and cultural events.

Our vision for this website is for it to be the place to go when people want to find new friends with whom they can enjoy fun sport and cultural activities. We also want it to inspire people to try new things that they didn't even know were out there or that they never thought they would have the opportunity to do. We want FindFriendsForFun to improve people's enjoyment of their leisure time.

Who are we?

We launched FindFriendsForFun in June 2011. We are a couple who immigrated to Australia from the UK several years ago. We have first-hand appreciation of the usefulness of meeting new people through shared interests as it was the most effective way we found to make new friends. We are: Peter Condick, who likes paragliding and can develop software; and Jane Robertson, who likes snowboarding and is very good at organizing Peter.

What do we want?

We want FindFriendsForFun to be constantly evolving based on people's requirements so don't be shy, let us know your ideas and opinions. This is your website so tell us what you want to see.

So, how did this website begin?

Well a couple of years ago we were on our way up to the Victorian Alps in Australia on one of our frequent snowboarding weekends and were asking ourselves how we could change our lives by finding a way to start a business of our own in an area that interests us a lot.

Well there is nothing that interests us more than sport and over the years we have tried our hand at a few exciting ones and through those sports have met some amazing people and gained some great friendships and experiences. Sometimes we have introduced our friends to these great sports and have taken pleasure from seeing their interest and enthusiasm grow and their lives take on another dimension.

Along the way we have spoken to countless people who would like to take up a sport, hobby or cultural activity but just do not have friends interested in doing the same thing. This fact planted the seed for us to start thinking about building a social networking site that puts people in touch with others wanting to do the same activity who are in the same situation of having friends with a lack of interest.

We know there are a lot of sites out there doing something similar but our idea was to offer a wide range of options that will enable people to go to one site for many things. We want to be the site that people use to find people and ideas for enhancing their leisure time. We want to inspire people to not just think about doing something new but to actually go out there and do it.

It`s still fairly early days, but we figured it`s better to get it out there as soon as we can and then we can enhance it as we go and people using it can help us make it what they want to see.

So bear with us through any teething problems and give us your feedback. We have a lot of ideas to implement and are also keen to hear from users on how to make it better.
